Inside AI@GT
Winter’s Data Dump
In December we had our fall 2025 summit where we recapped everything that happened last semester, including our projects, hackathons, and workshops. We also had a guest speaker, Arnaldo Tavares, talk about his experience in AI.
Earlier this month, we had our 2026 kickoff where our executive team introduced the club to potential newcomers and talked more about the projects being created, as well as different ways to get involved with the club.
What’s the buzz?

What’s big tech up to?
Meta is making huge investments into AI infrastructure. They’re investing between $115 and $135 billion in capital expenditures, focusing on data centers and compute, and even pushing for superintelligence. Meta is also shifting focus, working on its AI engine and the metaverse, while other companies are facing regulatory pressure.
Chip & hardware investment is still going strong, made evident by looking at NVIDIA, which has reached a $5 trillion valuation. They are having to increase production in order to meet demand. In terms of software, Oracle and Microsoft are both advancing in enterprise software.
Startup Spotlight
One startup that’s seeing a lot of success is Airweave, an AI startup that helps transform productivity tools and databases into searchable bases for AI agents. In today’s AI landscape, having a consolidated database of information will help advance AI agents immensely! Some key features of Airweave include:
Powerful search, letting agents find the right answers across platforms
Real time data sync, keeping agents and information up to date
Prebuilt connectors, with 50+ data sources
Framework compatibility, giving users a choice of agent stack
Open source philosophy, emphasizing transparency
Especially on the note of transparency, that’s crucial in keeping AI accessible so the public doesn’t see it as something to fear. This company’s focus on being for the user is precisely what will make it succeed in a cutthroat marketplace.
